Key Performance Areas: Reporting to and working with the Strategic Manager of Health and Safety and the NRM strategic manager of operations, this position implements efficient and effective administration of Health and Safety for all Natural Resource Management projects within the Trust. Responsibilities include overseeing of H&S operations in the NRM programme – both Ecological Restoration and Rapid Response; maintenance of the H&S file and other compliance requirements – as stipulated in the operational standards for NRM programmes; internal and external audits; training of field teams in H&S requirements, H&S monthly reporting. The role may require attendance of meetings and workshops from time to time, as well as mentoring and basic training of Wildlands staff in relevant processes.
Requirements: A tertiary qualification in a natural science or related field. Familiarity with Health and Safety in the implementation of EPWP projects. Ability to work in standard Microsoft office software, including a good grasp of Excel. Ability to communicate in both Zulu and English will be essential. This position requires significant work with compliance and attention to detail is essential. Candidate must be proactive, individually accountable and able to balance priorities. Must be passionate about creating environmental and social change. Familiarity with implementation of NRM projects will be highly advantageous. A valid drivers license is essential.
